Whose Line is it Anyway?

30 Jan

As pathetic as this sounds, starting this blog of mine was a highlight of 2012 for me. Before the ball ever dropped I got the idea to take a quote of mine from every letter I write this month to share little glimpses of my life, my style, and my letters obviously. If you have gotten a letter from me this month, by all means try to figure out what quote is from your letter(s)- I might even send you a prize if you figure it out. (Note: the quotes will be word for word.) By the way, I wrote two people for the first time this month and only decided to share one of those quotes; I also didn’t bother incorporating postcards I sent, via postcrossing.com or otherwise.

You should see Mr. Logan dance to the Saved by the Bell theme song – too cute.

Before I knew the sex I had this idea for a Wizard of Oz themed nursery, but once we knew we were having a boy, anything other than John Deere wasn’t an option, lol.

She decided to use her resources to destroy the lives of those who played a role in her father’s sentence and death, falling in love and whatnot along the way.

As for the nasty letter writer, maybe she’ll find someone who doesn’t mind the smell.

I don’t speak Italian unless you count ordering pasta from Olive Garden, but the other day I read how to wish someone a happy new year so felice anno nuovo, my friend!

What a turd!

Further proof that some people should NOT be allowed to have kids. And maybe even pets.

So far so good with my resolutions, minus the “save money” one but it’s not too late, I suppose.

As a teenager I collected hoodies, “princess” stuff, and shot glasses.

I hope you have as much fun with those questions as Logan’s having with his Mr. Potato Head.

I don’t wish a 3 hour glucose test on anyone.

How do you usually layer yours after the refried beans?

If cutting a steak with a plastic knife wasn’t awkward enough…

In addition to the hearts of every girl in that place, Logan went home with a new truck and some Jake and the Neverland Pirates toys.

…and now that I got some Revenge I should probably do some laundry.

Instead of being obsessed with cookies Trekkie Monster was obsessed with porn, lol!

Now that I have Logan I refuse to watch Pet Sematary ever again!

Gabe’s grandma and two aunts joined us and some Hot Wheels cars joined his toy collection.

I haven’t had ranch nor breakfast pizza before but now I want to change that!

I bet your wedding fund appreciates every penny, and you getting those gifts 63% off!

As far as cravings go we went to Arby’s after EVERY prenatal appointment but what I craved the most was hot fudge- I’m pretty sure I had more of that while I was pregnant than the rest of my life combined.

He was a little too little to be “excited” for his birthday but he did love all his presents and the mac n cheese from Logan’s Roadhouse.

For my birthday I’m hoping we’ll go pottery painting and try the peanut butter cake from The Gourmet Cupcake Shoppe.

I’d like to take this moment to thank everyone who has written me letters this past month. I’m sure this surprises no one but I love constantly have something to write, and I hope you enjoyed seeing some random writings of mine. I’m looking forward to the next month of letters and getting to use my new labels once they arrive. I had a vote for what ones I would be ordering next in my blog Avenue Q and the winner is the one with the colorful letters. Well, that’s all for me. At least for January.

Sincerely, Kate ~!~

Noteworthy

30 Nov

Welcome to Noteworthy, the blog where I write about the things that are worth sharing but are too small to justify being posted separately.

My favorite quote about writing is the one I heard when visiting my mom and “sister” at Saginaw Valley’s writing center:

“Writing should be like a woman’s skirt- long enough to cover everything, but short enough to keep things interesting.”

My Advanced Writing teacher, Mrs. Krauss, had the following written on her chalkboard (along with a stick figure drawing- can’t forget about the drawing!) and therefore I’ll always remember the difference between “lie” and lay”. (Remember guys, to lie is to recline and to lay is to place!):

“Laid never means going horizontal.”

And here’s a quote from a chubby little cubby for kicks and giggles:

“For I am a bear of very little brain and long words bother me.”

Despite that last quote, I’m quite fond of big words- succulent, concoction, and bravado all come to mind… if only I could get ’em to come together in the kitchen *rim shot*.

My little sous chef and I recently discovered Sesame Street Classics on Netflix and saw this gem- Logan liked it for the Count and I liked it for all the mail, hehe. Enjoy!

I like to joke that single-handed I keep my post office in business, but unfortunately that’s not the case. I have liked a group on Facebook called “Save the U.S. Postal Services by Sending More Mail,”  and the creator is always posting mail related articles (love it!). I recently saw a holiday friendly “petition” to help everyone keep getting mail and if you’d like to participate click me! for details.

And if you want to send more personalized mail this holiday season, you should look into this: The 12 Days of Love Letters (thanks, mom!)

I hope you enjoyed these little notes as much as I’ve enjoyed discovering them. Kudos to Joycelyn for helping me with the video and to me for finally figuring out how to insert links. Dasvidania!

Sincerely, Kate ~!~
