Hail the Snail 2.32

17 Jul

July 4th: The holiday meant no mail, and in the meantime I decided 8 of my pen pals would each get one of these to fill in for me, hehe:

July 6th: The first mail I actually got since the first was a letter from Kristy.

July 10th: And the first letter I got last week was one from Jody.

July 11th: I got a postcard from Kira over at Letters, Postcards and a Cup of Tea.

July 12th: Did you notice that I didn’t get a letter from Jody until the 10th this month? Well, we thought it was missing so her rewrite came today, lol.

July 14th: Manolo not only hooked me up with letters from Ashley and Justine, but with this adorable purse “from Gabe” for our anniversary (that’s on the 30th, FYI!):

July 15th: As for Pablo, so far my one and only piece of mail from my P.O. box has been a thank you card (and ATC) from a member of ATC the Change.

All in all, it’s been a pretty good month so far, both in the mail department and out of it. Sure, Gabe has been rather busy with wheat harvest (and sometimes Logan’s rather busy with it too if he’s not with his grandparents, hehe), but I’ve been busying myself with many a Change Card along with chores and hobbies like pen palling. The second half of this month should be even better yet. Gabe and I are seeing Queen with Adam Lambert in concert this week, our 7th wedding anniversary happens 10 days later, and I’m sure when Gabe’s not working, the boys and I will find other fun things to do before Logan starts school in another month.

Hope you’re enjoying your summer!
Sincerely, Kate ~!~

Little Cards: March

26 Apr

This morning it has been finalized that 5 of my fellow “adventurers” will be making ATCs reflecting a childhood memory, and 7 of us will be making ones in honor of the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean movie. While we make May’s Little Cards (and I continue to wait for the last of April’s to arrive), I thought I’d hold us all over with the sets from March!

Enchanted:

Dr. Seuss:

Quick shout out to Gabe for helping me with the burnt edges of my Lumiere ATCs in the first group! And in case you’re curious, the Green Eggs and Ham ATC in the second group is also my creation 🙂

Although I don’t have all of the Bunny and Romantic Comedy cards from April yet, I’d still like to say that this month marks a year and a half of Little Cards on Big Adventures! When Jenn and I made our group, I don’t think I really expected us to still be picking out themes come 2017, but now I definitely hope we have at least another 18 months of ATCs, hehe.

Sincerely, Kate ~!~

Hail the Snail 2.25

30 Jan

Much like my last mail call, this is a bit messed up since I should have posted some of the following on the 15th. Blogging just hasn’t been a priority over the past month or so, but hopefully as the year progresses I can begin to prioritize Sincerely Kate a bit better again. Well, without furter ado…

January 5th: I got a couple ATCs from a trade I made, and Logan got one, too 🙂

January 6th: We got a belated Christmas card from my brother Erik and his wife, an early Valentine-friendly package from Sarah, and some of the birthday presents I ordered for the Loganator.

January 7th: Another package from Sarah came today– meet the Gnomlins!

January 10th: Just stories from Sarah this time, but there were packages from Amazon and LulaRoe. And Pablo had a couple ATCs, too.

January 12th: Jody’s letter accompanied another Amazon box.

January 13th: The last of the birthday presents we ordered for the Loganator arrived along with stickers via Pipsticks, an ATC per a private trade, and a letter from Charmaine.

January 17th: The Loganator got a present from Sarah as well as a birthday card, while I got the set of Christmas Carols Little Cards and the postcards I ordered.

January 18th: Both of the boys received postcards– Gabe’s was from my pen pal, Justine, and Logan’s was from me!

January 19th: Another five birthday cards came for my (now) six-year-old, and a bunch of ATCs came for me.

January 20th: Thanks to Kira I received two Postcards from Wonderland.

January 21st: Sandwiched between birthday festivities for Logan were letters from Jody, Kari, and Kristy.

January 23rd: The birthday boy got some happy mail from Ashley, while I got a letter from Whitney, a Disney Pocket Letter from Jenn, a few ATCs, and more stickers via Pipsticks.

January 24th: Logan and I had even more happy mail between Sarah, Nicole, Krista, and Ashley.

January 26th: I got another turn with the stories Sarah and I have been writing together.

January 28th: A letter from Sarah came today along with the last of the Little Cards per my Zodiac theme and another miscellaneous ATC.

I think that’s everything, though I might have forgotten a birthday card for Logan here and there since I’m not used to tracking his mail. He definitely has appreciated everything he has gotten though, so much so Gabe and I picked out a couple Valentine’s Day cards we’ll be sending him soon, hehe. Thanks to everyone who sent any of us anything– you flop our mops ❤

Sincerely, Kate ~!~

Lefty Loosey

6 Jul

Like many ideas I’ve shared on Sincerely Kate since its conception in September of 2012, the first half of this year is behind us. It may not be a new year, but having half of 2016 ahead has me thinking it’s time to shake things up a bit here once again. “Needing” is probably more accurate. As much as I don’t miss the obsessive schedule I had before, only having mail calls along with sporadic Wonderland-friendly posts is not something I ever wanted SK to become. To remedy this, even if it’s just for my own peace of mind, I will now make myself blog on the first and third Wednesdays of every month in addition to what I was doing before.

While this is, in fact, my first post via this new schedule, rather than talk about something fresh, I want to address some old business– the loose ends that are blog posts past.

#1: Postcrossing.

I was once a rather active member of Postcrossing. I got in the habit of sending a postcard every time I didn’t receive something of my own, and once I’d get 50 I’d have posts like this. Eventually though, I started liking sending postcards way more than getting them, so much so the Postcard Posse was born. I never meant for the posse to replace Postcrossing, but that’s what happened, and honestly I don’t regret it at all.

#2: LaPapierre.

When I was a member of the League of Extraordinary Pen Pals, I was constantly exposed to LaPapierre stationery. Though I bought many a kind myself via Etsy, back in December I got the subscription service for Christmas. I had every intention of posting what I got when I got it, but not only did I get pretty lazy pretty fast, I wound up cancelling my subscription a few months ago. Sure, some of the designs are awesome, but ultimately I’d rather spend money on something I know I like rather than getting surprised for $120 a year.

#3: Vari-Kate-ions.

Once upon a time I decided to take a list of 100 themes from DeviantArt and make happy mail revolving around each of them. I made a big dent, getting to 40 according to this, but the chances of me finishing it are slim to none. When I made the last few, I was only making ’em for Allison and Othella, and the latter and I don’t send each other much of anything anymore. I’m sure Allison would still be up for getting them, but since she’s happy getting anything from me, I’m not going to sweat it.

#4: Katerz the Trader.

Though this never blossomed into a series, that was my intention. Making ATCs makes me happy, whether they’re for themes via Little Cards or for personal trades. Documenting every little one, though? Not so much. I do hope to get better about sharing the sets from Little Cards on this blog of mine, but the cards I make for kicks and giggles likely will just give their recipients a kick from now on.

And now that I got all that out of my system, we can definitely start fresh here, I think! Thanks for putting up with me and all the unwanted leftovers in the proverbial fridge.

Sincerely, Kate ~!~
