About Kate

Hello! If you’ve spent five minutes on this blog of mine you are now well aware that my name is Kate and I absolutely love sending and receiving mail.

I started writing letters for fun in the fall of 2005 and it has been my favorite hobby ever since. I am fortunate to have a husband who doesn’t bat an eye when I want new note cards and a kid who enjoys playing independently in patches throughout the day so I have time to put said note cards to use. Because of my family (and our messes) it’s rare that I finish a letter in a single sitting, but not a day goes by where I don’t write something.

For those of you who have liked what you’ve seen here on Sincerely Kate or would like me to answer questions about this pen palling hobby, you’re more than welcome to drop me a line here or you can send me something the old-fashioned way.

address

I hope you enjoy reading my entries (and maybe my letters) as much as I enjoy putting them together. They come with love from me to you!

Sincerely, Kate ~!~

Hi Kate, I’m from “Music Themes”. Thank you for the fun ideas posted on you mother’s blog. ๐Ÿ™‚ I really enjoyed them. I’ve never even heard of the Phantom Barber. The music in Nightmare Before Christmas is surprisingly GOOD. Bette is always outstanding. Thank you. Bear

Sweeney Todd: Demon Barber of Fleet Street is definitely a good movie to watch this time of year– all of “my mom’s” contributions are from great Halloween friendly movies, hehe. Glad to hear you enjoyed the blog!

    Dear Collaborator
I am going to “publish” my “Home for the Holidays” blog post early. I shall be away from the computer and may miss posting altogether if I don’t do it now. In anticipation of you joining in on Christmas, I have included you in the list of Themists. ๐Ÿ™‚ Thank you for all that you have done.
    Merry Christmas
    Bear

    Willow, Johnny, Deborah, Kate

As the musical themes idea has evolved beyond the comfortable reach of some of us, and for now, anyway, some of us again have access to the resources that make it possible to have fun with this sort of thing, I am letting you know there is a “new” version starting with the first “new” blog posting Thursday, February 20, 2014. Rather than Music Themists we shall call ourselves CRITICALLY CONFUSING CRYPTICS or CCC .

Bear has chosen the first subject (theme) MAYA เคฎเคพเคฏเคพ which fits quite well with our handle. Eva will pick for Thursday, February 27, 2014 . We shall have some fun!!! er, barring unforeseen circumstances, which we shall detour around, again, if need be. ๐Ÿ™‚

    Soon,
    Critically Confusing Cryptic Bear

Nice to see someone still writing the old fashioned way! When I was in 8th grade (c 1977) my best friend in the world moved a dozen states away. We spent the next 30 years writing letters. We still keep in touch via email but I miss the personal feeling of getting an actual letter!

I got a question for you…I just got myself a PO Box number and I am debating whether or not to list it in a blog entry or do as you did in your profile.

    • Sincerely Kate 08/03/2015 at 7:05 pm #

The reason mine is in my “About Kate” section is so that way anyone who clicks it will find the address. If you put it in a blog entry, people will only find it if/when they click that particular post, and it will get buried as you write new things.

      • katiegirl06460 08/03/2015 at 7:20 pm #

Ok that makes sense. I guess I can put it in my profile..:)

      • Sincerely Kate 08/03/2015 at 7:22 pm #

Your call, of course, but I think that would be an excellent place for it ๐Ÿ˜€
