The March of Postcards

15 Mar

Around this time last month, a fellow member of The League of Extraordinary Pen Pals, Othella, posted that she was looking for someone who would commit to sending her a postcard every day in March and she would send them 31 postcards as well. When the month was over, both people would respond to all of the postcards via a letter. I was beyond intrigued and soon became beyond excited because I was one of two people Othella decided to do this experiment with. I picked out 20 postcards that same night, deciding to alternate cards from destinations and novelty cards, except for on Sundays when I’d make my own postcards. This may have been Othella’s idea, but calling it “The March of Postcards” has been all me, hehe. You know me, when I’m given an inch, I run a mile.

I know March isn’t over with yet, but I just thought I’d share the first week’s worth of postcards I have received since I think this has been such a fun experience for me and my mailbox. But first, here are the first 7 postcards I sent out to Othella:

I got these three postcards first. They all showed up on the 9th.

Three more postcards followed on the 11th.

Though this postcard was the second she sent, it was the seventh to arrive.

Two more postcards have come since the recipe for Possum Pie graced me with its presence on the 12th, and the more I get the more I am loving this project. Thanks to the lovely Othella for not only coming up with this whole concept, but for picking such awesome cards for me!

Sincerely, Kate ~!~

The postcards are all fantastic, but that Strawberry Shortcake one is just perfect. 😀 I hope you post the rest as the month goes on!

The Strawberry Shortcake one is scratch and sniff! I couldn’t have asked for a better first postcard for such a project!

I know, right? I had no idea postcards could have such a feature.

The variety is so much fun. I also noticed that you jumped in with both feet and ran a mile. No one can ever accuse you of being lukewarm when you decide to participate in something. 🙂
